Sale of LRO Licences Resumes

Sale of LRO Licences Resumes

June 3, 2020

Resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, certain measures were implemented by the Guyana Revenue Authority, including the suspension of the sale of licences. Now that the April 30 deadline has elapsed, the general public is hereby notified that the Authority has resumed selling the following licences from May 11, 2020:

  • Driver’s Licence
  • Provisional Licence
  • Conductor’s Licence
  • Motor Vehicle Licence
  • Liquor Trade and Miscellaneous Licence

Further, the Licence Revenue Office has resumed processing transactions for updates on motor vehicles registrations. These transactions include: –

  • Duplicate Registration
  • Change of Colour
  • Change of Intended Use
  • Change of Engine
  • Change of Seating Capacity

Despite the recommencement of sale being earlier than the July 1 date previously announced, the Authority advises that the July 1, 2020 date will continue to be the enforcement date.

The public is further advised that the Authority will continue to strictly monitor visits to the office and will only allow a limited number of persons to enter the building with the protocols of mandatory body temperature checks, the wearing of masks and the sanitising of hands, remaining in effect.

Your full cooperation in this regard will be much appreciated as we continue to curb the spread of COVID-19.
