The general public is hereby notified that the exemption of Value Added Tax (VAT) on electricity as a COVID-19 relief measure will be implemented by the Guyana Power & Light Inc. as follows:

Pre-paid consumers:

• There will be an immediate reflection of the removal of VAT on consumption for the period April to June, 2020.

Post-Paid consumers: –

The exemption will be reflected on the bills for the period April to July 2020 accordingly:

• May 2020 – for consumption of electricity between the months of April and May 2020
• June 2020 – for consumption of electricity between the months of May and June 2020
• July 2020 – for consumption of electricity between the months of June and July 2020
