Disposal of Motor Vehicles | Goods by Sealed Bids

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is inviting sealed bids for the purchase of Motor Vehicles / goods on a ‘As Is, Where Is’ basis. Inspection by interested bidders will be facilitated daily commencing Monday, January 16, 2023, and concluding on Friday, January 20, 2023, during the hours of 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs.

The motor vehicles/Goods can be viewed at the following locations:

  • GRA’s Law Enforcement Office, Corriverton, Berbice;
  • GRA’s Customs Bond, Corriverton, Berbice; and
  • GRA’s Integrated Regional Tax Office, Lethem

The motor vehicles/goods would be marked with individual numbers for easy identification. Bids must be placed in sealed envelopes bearing no identification of the bidder’s name on the outside and must be clearly marked on the top, left hand corner “Bid for Purchase of Motor Vehicles with the individual number affixed on the motor vehicle”.

Bids must be deposited in the Bid Box at the following locations:

  • GRA’s Law Enforcement Office, Corriverton, Berbice;
  • GRA’s Integrated Regional Tax Office, Lethem; and
  • GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown, no later than Monday, January 23, 2023, at 08:30 hrs.

Terms and Conditions of Sale:

  1. The motor vehicles are sold on an “As Is, Where Is” basis.
  2. Each motor vehicle should be placed on an individual bid form
  3. Payment must be made in cash or manager’s cheque payable to the “Guyana Revenue Authority” by the successful bidder within three (3) working days of being informed. Failure to pay within the stipulated time period, will result in the next successful bidder being considered.
  4. Prospective bidders are only allowed to submit ONE bid per stock number.
  5. Removal and transport of the motor vehicles/goods from the locations would be the responsibility of the bidder and must be removed within five (5) working days of being informed.
  6. NOT all motor vehicles will be registered, some will be disposed as scrap.
  7. Motor vehicles that can be registered would be assigned registration numbers after full payment. In addition, successful Bidders would be required to pay the requisite transfer fee where necessary in keeping with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2017.
  8. Bid Forms can be uplifted from all the viewing locations stated above and at GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown, Receptionist Area, Ground Floor.

The GRA reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to remove or re-offer any item for sale.
