Disposal of Motor Vehicles by Sealed Bids

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is inviting sealed bids for the purchase of forty-two (42) Obsolete Motor Vehicles on a ‘As Is, Where Is’ basis. Inspection by interested bidders will be facilitated daily commencing Monday, April 19, 2022, and concluding on Friday, April 22, 2022, during the hours of 09:00 to 15:00.

The motor vehicles can be viewed at the following locations:

  • GRA’s Parking Lot, Lamaha Railway Embankment;
  • GRA’s Law Enforcement Office, Corriverton, Berbice; and
  • GRA’s Anna Regina, Branch Office, Essequibo

The motor vehicles would be marked with individual numbers for easy identification. Bids must be placed in sealed envelopes bearing no identification of the bidder’s name on the outside and must be clearly marked on the top, left hand corner “Bid for Purchase of Motor Vehicles” with the individual number affixed on the motor vehicle.

Bids must be deposited in the Bid Box at the following locations, no later than Monday, April 25, 2022, at 09:00hrs:

  • GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown;
  • GRA’s Law Enforcement Office, Corriverton, Berbice; and
  • GRA’s Anna Regina, Branch Office, Essequibo

Terms and Conditions of Sale:

  1. The Motor vehicles are sold on an “As Is, Where Is” basis.
  2. Each Motor vehicle should be place on individual bid form.
  3. Payment must be made in cash or manager’s cheque payable to the “Guyana Revenue Authority” by the successful bidder within three (3) working days of being informed. Failure to pay within the stipulated time period, will result in the next successful bidder being considered.
  4. Prospective bidders are only allowed to submit ONE bid per stock number.
  5. Removal and transport of the Motor Vehicles from the locations would be the responsibility of the bidder and must be removed within five (5) working days of being informed.
  6. NOT all motor vehicles will be registered, some will be disposed as scrap.
  7. Motor vehicles that can be registered would be assigned NEW registration numbers after full payment. In addition, successful Bidders would be required to pay the requisite transfer fee in keeping with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2017.
  8. Bid Forms can be uplifted from GRA’s Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown, Receptionist Area, Ground Floor, GRA’s Parking Lot, Lamaha Railway Embankment, GRA’s Law Enforcement Office, Corriverton, Berbice and GRA’s Anna Regina, Branch Office, Essequibo.

The GRA reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to remove or re-offer any motor vehicle for sale.
