The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has received approval from the Government of Guyana to extend the exemptions of Customs Duty, Value-Added Tax, Excise Tax and Stamp Duty where applicable on the attached list of medical supplies associated with the testing, prevention and treatment of disease, in an effort to assist with the current spread of COVID-19. These exemptions have been extended until June 30, 2022 or until Budget 2022, whichever is earlier.
Licensed Customhouse Brokers and Importers are advised that the tax exemptions only apply to the items with HS Codes listed in the table. Once the correct codes are used to prepare and submit ASYCUDA World (AW) declarations, the taxes will be exempted automatically. The GRA will ensure that systems are in place to have these declarations expedited immediately.
If you require any clarification or assistance please make contact with the ASYCUDA World NPT on Telephone Number 227-6060/ 227-8222 Ext 3633 for further guidance.
