  • Reading, sorting, and analyzing incoming and outgoing correspondence and reports in order to determine their significance and deliver to the appropriate section or unit accordingly.
  • Scheduling meetings, recording and distributing minutes, and assisting in providing secretarial support for workshops, conferences, and trainings.
  • Preparing agenda, correspondence, and reports, as required, ensuring a high level of accuracy and appropriate form of presentation.
  • Ensuring prompt dispatch of correspondence as well as acknowledgement of those received for necessary actions to be taken.
  • Receiving and screening visitors and directing them to the appropriate officers depending on their reason for the visit.
  • Connecting or redirecting incoming and outgoing telephone calls, depending on the area of interest, for appropriate attention and maintain telephone register.
  • Operating and maintaining office equipment, including computer, printer, photocopier, facsimile machine, ensuring that they are in working condition.
  • Filing, scanning, maintaining, and retrieving documents and reports in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with departmental standards and filing system.
  • Coordinating and requesting vehicles from the Transportation Unit when the need arises for relevant travel arrangements to facilitate staff of the Department.
  • Performing routine tasks pertaining to the daily operations of the Section for the accomplishment of team results.
  • Any other related duties assigned.

  • Diploma in Public Management, Business Management, Communication, Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience.
  • Sound knowledge of the mission, mandate, goals, and objectives of the Guyana Revenue Authority.
  • Sound knowledge of Office Procedures and PC Applications.
  • Excellent organisational, customer service, and multitasking skills
  • Excellent initiative, judgment, and report writing skills.
  • Sound knowledge of record keeping and excellent filing skills.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Critical ability to gather, manipulate and analyse data and report findings.
  • Integrity, mutual respect, accountability and professionalism.
