  • Assisting in preparing the Annual Work Plan for each staff member, identifying Key Result Areas (KRAs), and discussing performance expectations.
  • Monitoring staff performance through the appraisal system, providing feedback, and recommending training based on identified skill gaps.
  • Conducting monthly/quarterly supervisory and developmental sessions to enhance productivity.
  • Management of the GRA central monitoring room to facilitate effective and immediate response to an incident.
  • Assisting in the formulation of an annual budget for the unit to finance security faults, repairs, expenses or requirements and monitor the monthly expenditures to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration between regional supervisors and the monitoring and security systems team.
  • Preparing/ maintaining detailed reports of any emergency responses, including actions taken, personnel involved, and outcomes of the incident.
  • Assisting with the coordination of the daily activities of the Security operations and Monitoring Units at Headquarters, IRTOs and all GRA locations to ensure that routine security protocols are upheld.
  • Ensure approvals are granted to conduct maintenance works of all CCTV systems regularly and based on the exigencies of the job.
  • Conducting site visits for the inspection of existing offices and assessing new locations [warehouses, sub-offices, IRTOs, etc.] to ensure all security protocols are in place and the security and surveillance of the Authority’s assets and resources are prioritised.
  • Supervise and support the regional supervisors in managing security and monitoring activities within the respective scope of their Regions.
  • Allocating resources, including personnel, equipment, and budget, to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Public Management, Security, Information Technology, or any other equivalent qualification with a minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in Security or Law Enforcement, or Military.
  • In-depth knowledge of GRA’s mission, mandate, goals, strategic plan, and initiatives.
  • Sound knowledge of the Guyana Revenue Authority’s Security Policies.
  • In dept knowledge of the Police Act Chapter 16:01.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • In depth knowledge of administration/investigating procedures and principles.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of Incident Management.
  • In depth knowledge and skills of Fire procedures or willingness to undertake mandatory training.
  • Approachability, diplomacy, dedication and ability to deal with confidential matters.
  • Skills and knowledge of Health and Safety issues with an understanding of safe methods of working.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience of screening of individuals in a security environment.
  • Available to work flexible hours and travel as required in order to meet the needs of the services.
  • Assertiveness and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Integrity, mutual respect, accountability and professionalism.
