Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in coordinating unit activities to ensure compliance with financial procedures and internal controls.
- Examining Approval Sheets and Sub-Vouchers against invoices/quotations to confirm accuracy and determining if Tender Board/Expenditure Committee approval is required.
- Reviewing invoices/quotations for utilities, contractors, maintenance, and miscellaneous payments.
- Verifying contracts for rental properties across regional locations and ensuring invoice details are accurate.
- Examining monthly salary paysheets against pay change/salary orders to confirm correct adjustments before final processing.
- Updating Approval Sheets following the correction of queried invoices/quotations.
- Submitting invoices/quotations above threshold limits to the Tender Board/Expenditure Committee and follow up on approvals.
- Updating and maintaining Utilities Registers and Contracts Registers.
- Preparing weekly and monthly production reports on invoices/quotations examined and queries resolved.
- Liaising with internal divisions and external stakeholders as required.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Job Specifications:
- Certified Accounting Technician (CAT)/ Diploma in Accounting or any other equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years’ relevant Financial Accounting experience.
- Sound knowledge of the GRA’s mission, mandate, strategic priorities, and relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in GAAP and PC applications.
- Strong analytical, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and meet deadlines.
- Integrity, assertiveness, and team orientation.
