NOTICE – Scammers Alert!

NOTICE – Scammers Alert!

July 18, 2022

The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) wishes to once again warn the general public of fraudsters posing as GRA officers and enlisting taxpayers at its various offices to transact business on the agency’s behalf for a fee.

Members of the public are reminded that all payments MUST be made to GRA’s cashiers located at the Headquarters, Regional Offices, and/or Licence Revenue Office. Please note, official receipts will accompany all payments.

Alternatively, taxpayers can utilise the GRA’s online/digital payment options with banking institutions (GBTI, Republic Bank, Demerara Bank), GTT’s Mobile Money (MMG), and Bill Express.

If you encounter/suspect scammers, GRA wishes to advise individuals to request the name and employee ID of the person posing as a GRA representative since all staff of the GRA are required to carry identification cards while executing their duties.

You can report suspected scammers or imposters to the Special Investigation Unit by calling the hotline at 225-5051 or sending an email to siu@gra.gov.gy.
