Objections & Appeals

The Guyana Revenue Authority wishes to notify taxpayers that where there are Objections to, and appeals for a review of taxes assessed by the Commissioner General, then same can be addressed through the established Boards of Review governed by the Laws of Guyana.

Taxpayers are reminded that there are three Boards of Review to which they can appeal their cases if they are dissatisfied with the Commissioner-General’s decision regarding their objection to an assessment. The Boards of Review are as follows:

  1. Income Tax Board of Review
  2. VAT Board of Review
  3. Customs Tribunal

    Delinquent taxpayers continue to delay payment of millions of refunds

    Gross negligence on the part of a large number of taxpayers (employers and employees) to submit accurate tax returns to the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) continues to stymie the processing and payment of refunds.

    Commissioner-General, Mr. Khurshid Sattaur said that  a large sum in the tune of hundreds of millions was allocated for the payment of refunds after authorization was given to prioritise the processing of refunds to Pay As You Earn (PAYE) taxpayers for the period, Year of Assessment, 2007-2012 and subsequently 2013.

The GRA's website has been designed to cater to your online needs as it relates to accessing information on taxation matters.You can access the latest updates  on what's happening within the agency, download forms, and for those persons who require information on the taxes administered by the agency, you can check the categories listed on the left panel of our website.  Importers and Exporters who transact business with the GRA in foreign currencies can check every month for the full list of the Rates of Exchange, below.
