Objections & Appeals

The Guyana Revenue Authority wishes to notify taxpayers that where there are Objections to, and appeals for a review of taxes assessed by the Commissioner General, then same can be addressed through the established Boards of Review governed by the Laws of Guyana.

Taxpayers are reminded that there are three Boards of Review to which they can appeal their cases if they are dissatisfied with the Commissioner-General’s decision regarding their objection to an assessment. The Boards of Review are as follows:

  1. Income Tax Board of Review
  2. VAT Board of Review
  3. Customs Tribunal

    GRA committed to convenient parking amidst ongoing criticisms

    The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has taken note of a press report that attempts to disrepute the Authority’s efforts at curtailing the intolerable congestion in the vicinity of its Camp Street Headquarters.

    The article which appeared in the February 18 Edition of Stabroek News put spotlight on a near empty parking lot along the Lamaha embankment which was prepared to accommodate parking for staff.

    The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) invites all Self-Employed Persons to an open workshop to be held at its Headquarters, 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown.

    The workshop is designed and aimed at ensuring that taxpayers, specifically, self-employed persons, are well-informed of their tax obligations, further allowing for easier transaction processes with the Guyana Revenue Authority.

    GRA Taxpayer Parking Facility Now Available

    The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) wishes to inform the general public that the parking lot located at lot 235 Camp Street Georgetown, opposite the GRA Headquarters and adjacent to St. Margaret’s Primary School has been officially designated as GRA Customer Parking. This facility will become operational on Monday February 2, 2015.

    Importation of Cellular Phones

    The Guyana Revenue Authority is advising persons who are desirous of importing cellular phones for retail purpose that they would be entitled to an exemption from the payment of customs duty applicable, provided that they comply with certain regulations as stipulated by the GRA.
